Now about the books we prefer...

The Mists of Avalon marked me very much, because I had never imagined the story of king Arthur and his knights told through the eyes and feelings of women!!! :flag: :surce:
It was a marvellous surpise!!
I remember I began reading it because my eldest sister did read it first and she said wonders about it!!! :surce:

About the Mists of Avalon - I didn't read the book, I only have seen the movie. I don't think it was so good Rolling Eyes maybe the book is more interesting that the movie scratch

And about the Da Vinci code - I began reading it, I almost finish it - WONDERFUL BOOK, this morning even I came a little bit late in the office because when I wake up, I've just can't hold myself and I read for a while :blush2: tonight I must finish it otherwise I couldn't sleep :angel2:

Kisses!

Wooow, Notre-Dame de Paris - I love this book :dube: but the movie I've watched soon was total disappointment (with Salma Hayek as Esmeralda). Somehow, although that the end is not happy, I like it. I mean, I like the idea that Quasimodo and Esmeralda are together in the death, and when they tried do separate his skeleton from hers, it turned in dust :disap: :disap: But in the movie the end was (almost) happy and Phoebus wasn't between the principal characters confused confused

Yes.. :stari:
Quand les années auront passé
On retrouvera sous terre
Nos deux squelettes enlacés
Pour dire à l'univers

Combien Quasimodo aimait
Esmeralda la zingara
Lui que Dieu avait fait si laid
Pour l'aider à porter sa croix
Pour l'aider à porter sa croix

(English version, for Alex Laughing =>
When the years have all come and gone.
They'll find beneath the ground.
Our two bodies joined as one.
Showing how we were bound.

How much Quasimodo once loved.
Esmeralda the gypsy girl.
How he was marked by god above.
Just to help him to bear his cross.
Just to help him to bear his cross.

The movie with their end was terrible.. Sad Although I like Salma very much.. she is so pretty.. and she was soo.. well she was very good for Esmeralda's role.. I mean her appearance.. Rolling Eyes And you know it seems that I love the books with "not happy end" even more than the books with happy end.. Rolling Eyes I suffer with the heros.. It seems that I live with them.. it this book already.. I like "deep" romans like these.

I SUPPOSE SO! I DIDN'T EVEN WATCH THE MOVIE. tHEY DIDN'T SHOW IT IN SPAIN shocked shocked
But, I watched later on tv and I was deeply disappointed! shocked shocked shocked
They couldn't transfer to the movie the deep feelings and sensations of the book shocked
Of course there was a lot of fantasy!!! :zy: :zy:
BUT... What I admire most in the book is the courage, strengh and cunning of all those women that tell the story through the four or five books of the Saga!!!And , at the time, I did wonder what the world would be like if some of the celtic beliefs and civilization had survived!
And what allured me the most was that it all happens in a world where women rule and have total sex freedom!! :zy: :zy: :zy:
Perhaps I enjoyed the book so much because I was brought up in a somewhat conservative athmosphere ! BUT SPAIN HAS CHANGED RADICALLY IN THESE LAST 10...15 years!

YES!!! A wonderful book!
However, I hope that it will be a hit in the cinemas! But, I am a bit sceptic! scratch I remember that some years ago the great hit " THE NAME OF THE ROSE" by Humberto Ecco was brought to the cinema too but, almost everybody was disappointed because the book was soooo much better!! shocked

So...I am very curious about the DA VINCI CODE!!!

yeah, me too! Rolling Eyes I think that everybody has big expectations to this movie (as for The name of the Rose that you mentioned) so it's possible that we'll be disappointed :| I hope that the director has included in the movie some new details just to surprise the spectators, but without changing the more important moments in the book Suspect We'll see! Very Happy
