well, as i found this thread ,i thought of maybe sharing my thoughts&feelings with you guys: this is one of my first poems in english .i'm actually quite proud of.i think somewhere i have one in french as well. as for the rest of my creations they are in romanian,but i'll try to find an english equivalent for the last one,there is also a variant in english

To Give
To give your heart and soul when you love,
Know the difference between giving and receiving,
Learning to give, you will discover secrets…
When love lives in you, from any smile, look
Any feeling becomes stronger.
Overcome the obstacles, fill the empty hours
When you love, you learn to give
Your heart and soul.
As the years pass by, you learn to build ideals
Live with all the changes around you,

Les Amours mortes/Dead feelings
Mes amours meurt
a cause de l'indifference qui est
parmi les hommes
qui passent toujours indifferents dans la rue.
Les pas des amants desunis
sont effaces par les froides et cruelles vagues.
le sable fin coule lentement vers mon ame...
des amis se promenent
en se faissant des promesses
que je suis sure qu'ils ne peut pas
tenir.
Quels jours heureux j'ai eu...
quand le soleil etait plus brulant qu'aujourd'hui
quand le cile etait plus claire qu'aujourd'hui.
Tout est mort maintenant...ainsi que moi-meme...

this is a poem I wrote, but I translated it into English so it sounds a bit strange and with mistakes....


there won't be a morning
neither a moon
while I call

The poem Bea was talking about in another thread is part of a group of poems that the author called MESSAGE!!
A message to the people and to a country that had lots of potical and ecomomic problems in the the early thirties of the 20th century...
It was meant to make the people be proud...

The translation is more or less like this!
The salt and the water of the ocean are tears of Portugal, because in the 15th century our people explored and mastered the ocean and in doing this,lots of young men and people died..Mothers cried their hearts out...daughters pprayed day and night for their fathers,... wifes , cried and prayed for their husbands...young brides prayed and cried for the loss of their sweet hearts!the tears were washed to the ocean...
And then , the question.. was it worth while all that suffering and tears???
Yes!! Because we are a courageous people...we descovered a new world too, soo we had to ignore pain!

This poem is considered one of the most beautiful poems in portuguese poetry!
