| This is a "work in progress". I like it, though. So, hopefully you will, too. See Lerochka & Lyra just for you!!!! Desert Poem for IanI dream of you in linen shirts and of apricot jam. We sit together cross-legged, our blanket is spread over a field of dried weeds. We eat toast, as the sun roasts our backs. You tell me of the flooding rivers in Egypt, how the water creases the dry land, like wrinkles. I spell your words with the bread crusts, but they crumble to sand in my hands. My mouth still sweet with jam, I imagine you trudging through African dust, the white linen of your shirt clinging to your underarms with sand in your hair. Reaching for your hand, I ask about oasises. The green in a desert. The refuge from floods. But, you’d rather tell me about wastelands and the people who suffered in them. We are safe, I want to tell you. There is sweetness and beauty in life. And I love you.Still, deserts are all you understand. |

| This is a French poem that I remember from the University. I suppose the author is not very popular (Marina should know better) but I liked it when I first read it: Marceline Desbordes-Valmore
Dors-tu ?
I'm going to search some Bulgarian poems translated in English! _________________ |

| Hehe...a parody of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. I think you'll like it...it involves our dear Albie and Max!! 'Twas the night of the free dance and all through the rink, Not a person was calm; there was no time to think. The banners were hung by the fans with care, With hopes that the skaters would soon be there. The fans were settled all content in their seats, While the ice dancers danced to their original beats. And Lerka with her Bulgarian flag, and Lana with her French, Watched the ice dancers dance as they sat on their bench. Suddenly from the crowd arose a loud cheer, As to the ice the Bulgarians drew near. They skated a program so smooth and perfect, That it was sure that they were the champions the judges would elect. Then to our delight Albie and Max arrived, And we lived the moment to which we had strived. And Lana, and Lerka, and Grace, Vania, and Bea, Plus Serena, and Marina, and Vala, Alex, and Maria; They met their dear heroes, one and all, And after that day they all stood tall. They heard the Bulgarians exclaim, as they drive out of sight: "Thank you to all, and to all a good night!!" Enjoy my dear serishas!!
