Actually Sofia and Marco are actors..they graduated in the Theatre School of Lisbon...they are the very best...:surce: :surce:
But some of them are top models:zy: :zy: that play a part in the tv series because money makes money...:zy: :zy: :zy: :zy:
And these last ones are not very good...:zy: They could play in a second or third rate novel..:zy:

As Serena said there are actors and actors...:mdr:
Sofia Alves and Marco d' Almeida that are the main characters in LOVE ISLAND, are very dear to the portuguese because both of them had to flee their homelands when they were children..saaad Sofia from Angola and Marco from Mozambique..saaad saaad .
Marco went back for sometime, but Sofia never did go back to Angola.
They studied in Lisbon together and began to conquer audiences in the teathre and on TV..

Sofia and Marco in JOIA DE AFRICA ?/ THE JEWEL OF AFRICA. a novela that tells the story of a portuguese family in Mozambique in the fifties...


They look soooooooo CUUUUTE!

Portuguese and Brazillian tvs usually do that.. :kataus: :kataus: There are portuguese and brazillian classics that have been adapted to novelas quite sucessfully! :wink:
But they had never tried with a so called foreign classic here in Portugal!
Its a great , great success :mdr: the second most watched tv programme in Portugaīl after Ilha dos Amores that reaches 50% in the audiences preferences! :wink:

But, I think that the idea of adapting to a novela Count of Monte Cristo was first tried in Argentina :mdr: , but portuguese tv doesnīt want to talk much about it, but everything is known eventually!

But, our version is super cool..very modern..
Lots of people say itīs one of the best series ever in this country.. zvet

Yes, from Argentina! People were very disappointed here, when we found out that it had not been our ( portuguese idea) shocked shocked shocked
We portuguese , have a way of thinking , a very peculiar way of thinking, our very own. shocked Embarassed ! And we donīt forgive anything, even the smallest detail. lol! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes . We found out that the music , the names the scenaries were the same as the argentinian version shocked shocked . SOOOO SIC ( the Tv responsible for this series) was not very well treated.. :mdr: :mdr: :mdr: when all this came to light!
The only thing that is different is the name of the series. In Portugal itīs Vinganįa.. In Argentina, Montecristo....

True! We felt so let down.. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Weep Weep
at least they could have told that it was a version of a version.. :mdr: or a version of other two versions, from Argentina and Chile.. :mdr: :mdr: Erm.. Erm..
So, no wonder the other independen tv / TVI/ that shows only series written by portuguese writers, gets the huge audiences it gets.. :kataus: :kataus:
