World champion Albena Denkova gave a brief comment to journalists about the verdict, that her partner Maxim Staviski received about the crash he caused in the summer of 2007.

"You all understand that our situation is not flourishing. Maxim gave a few short statements after the verdict, saying that he would accept any court's decision . In this connection I want to say that I am with him in this and i will support him , but can't be his lawyer, "said Denkova.

Albena Denkova expressed gratitude to the people who invited them to participate in the show "Ice Age", as said that at the moment for her and Max is very important to work.

Q - Albenche, we can’t skip this question: How is Maxim’s condition and how he is accepting the changes in the sentence ?

AD- I don’t even know how to answer. I guess you all can understand that neither his condition nor mine is flourishing but still , he gave few short statements after the verdict and said that he will accept any court’s decision. In this connection, I would like to say that I am with him and I am supporting him from the first moment and until now but I am not Maxim or his lawyer .I believe is more correct for Maxim to answer the questions that are addressed directly to him ,of course if he has a desire to answer. Please, if there is anything specific you want to ask me let it be only about us both or something i can answer somehow because I don’t want to play the role of his lawyer .

Q -OK, in this order ,how about you participation in “Ice Age” , because we know for you is very important and de facto is your way to work at the moment ? What it will change from here and in general will anything change at all during the appeal ?Can i ask like this?

AD- I can say ,that I am extremely grateful to the organizators of this show and especially Ilia Averbukh for their ethical , human treatment and understanding and for giving us opportunity to work at the moment . You know this is really important for us. There are no changes in their attitude and our engagements for now .The changes will occur here : accordingly to what Maxim will decide to do and of course the court‘s decision.

Q- OK, well ,during the appeal you can continue to work ? Is my understanding right?

AD -Yes. At the moment we don’t have any other restrictions but I think that more competent people will be able to answer this better than me .

Q- In the same order, as far as I know because of the huge public rating the show will continue .It was supposed to end around Christmas time .

AD - I have no idea. Yes, it was said that the show had a big public interest ,very high rating and because of this it was decided to be prolonged for two more months in March and April . Honestly, we don’t have clear information about this decision because it was made at very high level in Russian Channel 1 and we don’t know any particular details .

Q- What is your comment about the fact that there are so many heavy accidents but only Maxim received effective sentence?

AD- I can’t give any comments because I am not a specialist in this area . I consider, that everyone can make their own conclusion .I believe that maybe lawyers , judges , prosecutors or any representatives of the jurisdiction can make better comment on this matter. I am not the person to take side and give my public opinion .

Q - Do you feel like a victim of the juridical system ?

AD - Why are you asking me those provocative questions ?

Q- But still…?

AD - After all, I think, I don’t have to answer this question now.
